Family Statement
Malang Nyabally, the father of Ebrima Nyabally, who passed away while stationed in the barracks, is seeking answers from the Army about his son’s death. Ebrima, who moved to the UK from Gambia at six, was described by his father as a shy, generous, and kind young man with his whole life ahead of him.
He was also a promising young man. Ebrima’s parents claimed they felt left in the dark and wanted to see their son’s body and where he passed away. They also expressed anger about everything and said they were proud of their son.
Ebrima’s father, a veteran of the British Army, struggled to drive home the night he received the devastating news, and he was heartbroken that his son died in the barracks rather than in the war. Ebrima was allegedly put on a “unit risk register” the day before he died.
During this difficult time, the Army Spokesperson expressed their condolences and asked for privacy for Ebrima’s family and friends.
